Uses: Prilocaine hydrochloride is a local anesthetic of aminoamide type. Pilocaine is often used in dentistry. Procaine is also often combined with lidocaine as a preparation for skin anesthesia (lidocaine/procaine or EMLA) for the treatment of paresthesias and other conditions.
Local anesthetics:Prilocaine hydrochloride, white crystalline powder, odorless, sour and slightly bitter in taste. The melting point is 167～168℃. It is soluble in water, ethanol and slightly soluble in chloroform. It is a local anesthetic with a mechanism of action similar to that of lidocaine. The strength of action and the speed of onset are also very similar. It has a longer maintenance time, low toxicity and low accumulation. It is clinically used for infiltration anesthesia, epidural anesthesia and conduction anesthesia for various operations. The maximum dosage at one time is 60mg, 0.5% to 1% solution for infiltration anesthesia; 2%, 3% solution for nerve block anesthesia Chemicalbook and epidural anesthesia. Children should be given medication as appropriate.
